Lending Hands To COVID-19 Lockdown Affected People

Dry Ration & Care Kit Relief

The onset of COVID-19 brought about many challenges for the financially disabled. For a daily wager, his job means everything to his family. They don’t live with a big picture in mind, it’s the everyday life that draws the big picture for them. With no income for more than three months now, they started falling short of ration, grains, spices, etc. They are strong enough to spend the entire day on a single chapati, but what if they don’t have enough grains to cook even that?

We, at PECT, realize the challenges these migrants and tribal face in their day to day lives amid this Lockdown. The worker section that sustains on daily wages is deprived of any permanent income and is quarantined in their homes. Though income is restricted, expense is eternal. Basic amenities such as food, is essential. Every worker has a family having at least two children. Considering these brutal living standards of migrants, tribes, and daily wage workers, PECT initiated a campaign to distribute dry ration kits to these families to support their sustenance.

Being in a well-off position we might not understand the pain points of these tribes and daily wagers. But when we get to the ground, we witness the brutal reality. How their adolescent children hold onto their stomach with zipped mouths, while the mothers struggle to feed their infants somehow. To ensure at least one meal, PECT donated packets of daily ration to these family, sufficient for a month.

As long as COVID-19 affects the lives of daily wagers and tribes, PECT promises to help their sustenance. We also feel that joining hands together will help us reach out to more such families, spreading humanity even in the face of social distancing amid novel corona virus. Food Relief During COVID-19 Crisis

Though the government had imposed Lockdown over the country, the supply of essentials was always made available. What do we mean by essentials? Vegetables, Groceries, Medicines, etc. If you might have looked around people were trying new cuisines and dishes during the Lockdown Period. Apparently, cake would be the most common dish that has been at least baked once in our homes in the past few months. While we were enjoying the Lockdown Period in exploring new interests and hobbies, people were struggling to have a single meal throughout the day.

We are blessed to have a roof over our head, a bed to sleep on, and two meals for the day. But has everybody been fortunate to enjoy the sustainable needs? No. Look at the daily wage workers. Their job and income have been washed away by COVID-19. They are not only jobless but also strive hard to serve their children’s hunger.

PECT understands the challenges of these daily workers and migrants, and had organized a food distribution stall to serve these poor hungry souls. We have all learnt Anna Danam Paramam Danam, but PECT lives it. We have made it our mission to not let any daily wage worker or tribal person to sleep hungry at night.

We are trying our best, but we can’t do it without your help. Be a part of our mission in donating life in the form of food. Contact us today!

We often define our basic needs as food, clothes and shelter but isn't our physical mobility the backbone for our survival?
PECT is a non-profit organisation that provides this mobility to specially abled people, by providing them with wheelchairs under “Each Can Walk” campaign.
These wheels are beyond physical motion; they act as helping hand to reach
heights in their lives. By 2018, PECT has been able to uplift the lives of 32 people from the ground. It is because of this donation that they are able to get through the shackles of poverty and find a better living for themselves.
PECT provides you an opportunity to contribute in making the lives of these specially abled people better by donating wheelchairs to the needy.

While we are busy in picking a best outfit for a particular occasion, many people from the remote areas try to find happiness in their old rags.
PECT, a nonprofit organisation reaches out to such financially vulnerable tribals and provides them with pairs of clothes, blankets etc. Not only it provides clothing but also helps in the flourishment of the young generation by providing them educational wares. PECT stretches out to these outlying areas and aims to improve their way of living through the campaign “Give Little Help A Lot”.
Here, PECT acts as window through which, you can sneak out of the air conditioned rooms and come out on the grounds to help the needy by donating some basic and necessary supplies.

We dream of acquiring finest quality of education and secure our future. But have we ever imagined the lives of unfortunate people who are void to even primary education.
PECT, is a non-profit organisation that cares for these people and provides them scholarships under “Vidvatta Scheme” to educate themselves. By 2019, PECT has provided more than 360 scholarships to the deserving and aspiring students.
The only aim behind providing these scholarships to the students of economically backward class is to open the door that leads towards a better life, as we all live.
Thus, through PECT you can be a part of this upbringing by following the procedure given below and bring about a change in the lives of many deserving students.

Often, the women from rural areas, who work as labourers tend to migrate to different places in search of work and carry their children along with them. The Government has allotted a hostel facility by the name "Ashramshala" and “Seasonal Hostel” to help the survival of these children, as well as their education in tribal areas of Gujarat. It permits accommodation of about 50 to 120 such children.
However, the number of migrating children is always greater than the actual intake. Therefore, PECT has initiated a new campaign “Vedanta Ashraya” to provide the financial help needed for education as well the accommodation of more such migrating children. Here at PECT we aim to extend a homely atmosphere to the homeless.

PECT only wishes to grow as a platform which motivates the elite classes to work at ground level and help in meeting the survival needs of the poverty-stricken population, rather merely as an organization. Thus, making the world a better place to live for all with equality.
